Verifying DMI pool data stuck

Unplug all excess hardware - usb devices, etc.

Go into BIOS menu:

Under HDD, set it to "Auto" for the drive type

Under UPNP, enable "Reset Configuration Data" or "Force Update ESCD".

Otherwise, reset your CMOS on the motherboard - Unplug the mobo battery for half an hour.

I went into the BIOS menu. I attached a picture of it. Can you tell me where to go from here? I'm not experienced with this kind of stuff. Thanks a lot! :)

I also detached all the USBs and microphone and speakers. Only things left are the keyboard, monitor, power cable, and ethernet.

I'm not familiar with Award Bios - try PnP and see if you can enable "Reset Configuration Data" or "Force Update ESCD".

Have a look around and see where the Hard Drive Setup is. Make sure it set to Auto, or Autodetect.

I'm not sure if the HDD S.M.A.R.T was ever enabled or disabled, but it's disabled right now. I tried enabling it and it still doesn't change anything.

Not sure if this'll even help anyone out but.. here's the screen I get when I load up the Windows 7 32-bit Repair Disc. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...1112092302.jpg There is nothing listed in the area. Clicking on "restore your computer using a system image" doesn't work. It always says "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer. Attach the backup hard disk or insert the final DVD from a backup set and click Retry. Alternatively, close this dialog for more options."

So I've tried going with the first option - using recovery tools. None of the tools really do anything. They just give errors, except for the command promt.. which I don't even know what I could do with it. The only tool that does anything is the Startup Repair.

Nothing is fixed when I restart too.

Sigh... I'm losing hope.

How could my computer have gotten so f-ed up from an aborted XP install?? Why would it even give me the option of quitting the install if it was gonna destroy my computer?? Please, if anyone can help me.. My computer is only a few months old too. Ahhh!

Hi, from where did you buy the computer? If its just a few months old, then you can contact the manufacturer and request the Windows 7 disk and reinstall Windows7 .
