    BSOD during Windows 7 installation

    Hi everyone!
Have this computer for 4.5 years. i5 2500k, Nvidia 460GTX, Asus P8 P67 Pro mobo, WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD. Recently the hard drive failed and i bought Seagate Barracuda 1TB. Tried to install Windows 7 but somewhere in the process after "starting services" promo i get BSOD for like 3 seconds and then the computer reboots and setup displays message that says something like "the installation encountered an unexpected error, restart the installation to try again". I tried several times and also tried to install Server 2008 r2 just to make sure the DVD is not the problem and yes, in both cases got the same error. By the way, installed Linux without any problem, so the problem is specific to Windows. Please help me to fix this?

Hello Oleg mate so we have it right the machine did have 7 on it before this attempt to install?? If so are you using the same media that was used to install onto the old drive to install onto the new drive??

Now just how did you prepare the new drive for install?

    Thanks for the reply man

Yeah, the machine was running win7 64 bit of course. And it is the same install dvd that i ised to install on the old hard drive.
About preparation. Not much, unplugged the old drive, plugged in the new Seagate. Booted from the dvd, and started installing without "format" option. Later tried to format during the install but with the same result.
