    Clean Install Questions

    Hello,

I'm planning a clean install of Win 7 Pro x64. I plan to have the My Documents folder on the D:/ drive. I'm running Intel Rapid Storage Technology RAID 1. So, the C:/ drive and the D:/ drive will be logical disks. I intend to partition the drive so that I have ample size for the OS on the C:/ and the remainder of the available space on the D:/. What is the recommended minimum size for the C:/ drive if all data files will be located on the D:/ drive? Are restore points saved to the C:/ drive as well or can they be saved on another drive?

    Thanks you your assistance.

    Regards

Recommended ? Windows needs at least 20 to 30 GB, but I wouldn`t go smaller then at least 100 to 150 GB

Save restore points on C. If you create disk images you don`t even need to use system restore, but that`s up to you.

Also, what`s the point in using raid ?

    Mirror two drives for redundancy.
