    Will Win7 OA key work on another computer of same OEM?


    My HP laptop died. It came with a Win 7 Pro OA licence. My parents have an old HP workstation that came with WinXP. I wonder whether the laptop licence will work on the workstation, being both from the same brand.

    Welcome to our forum. To answer your question, NO.
    Your Win 7 Pro OA license will only work legally on the computer it was first installed on.

    Thank you for the reply.
    I will probably go with opensuse then. I don't like XP being EOL for that long and W10 insider has proved pretty unstable so far on that computer.
