Your safest option would be to take the hard drive out of your computer and place it in another computer and save your data before you go anywhere with your current plan of attack. You'll be much happier; it takes less then a second to loose hundreds of hours of work.

If he can't remember his password what good would it do to remove the hard drive and put it in another compyou got the same prob.

Don't switch drives in the second comp. Just add it in and then boot up and copy needed files to a thumbdrive or dvd or something. Might have to Take Ownership Shortcut or something. There is a hidden Admin acct. in Seven, have you tried going into that. You could save stuff or maybe change the other accounts password to get back in. Info here if needed: Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

knowone is adressing the not being able tyo install any os... which is the problem i posted... lol
dont need to format anymore because i got access to a burner..
now i jut need a password recovery tool that will bypass my password and works with windows 7 64bit
This is not the acct. you created when you installed the OS, hence the term 'Hidden' acct. If you have never activated the account it does not yet have a password. Just want to be clear that these are two different accounts. If you have activated it and have forgotten the password to both accounts, then we are trying to make sure the data is saved as you indicated you didn't want to lose it. As I said, you may be able to change the password from this other admin acct. which would give you access to your acct. Or you can create another acct. and move all the needed files from the old acct. to the new one. I've done this when an acct. got corrupted. What Version of Windows 7 do you Have??
If you have Professional or Higher than click the start button and search Local Security Policy..
And then when that Window opens click the down arrow of Local Policies under that click the Security options. after that look for Accounts Administrator account status. and then enable it.. if you have not activated it..it will not have any password to it..
