When i install 7 oem on a new build no hdd is seen

I am attempting my first build and have assembled the system. It post fine and i can access bios . When i attempt to load win 7 OEM it does not see hard drives and i can not load from supplied disc from gigabyte. I have only one sata hard drive and 2 sata dvd burners. I have disconnected every thing from the sata ports but the hdd and one burner. I have read about using f6 to load drivers but am unaware of how to do this and if it would even help.

Have you set your new HD to ACTIVE.

Is that setting in the bios? I have set the onchip sata to AHCI as suggested by a fellow novice. When i do that it post differently but i have no way to force boot order and it does not start the dvd rom. I can not access the boot order from the post screen either. when i try that i gives me a black screen with a flasking cursor in the upper left and accepts no input from the keyboard.

    Hi badgerboy5401
A few bit you could try.
    Try using a IDE DVD:
USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create
    Clean Install Windows 7
    Load Sata Controller drivers.

Missing CD/DVD-RE drivers during clean setup

This is a an update to my lack of progress. I have made a usb copy of the raid drivers as suggested in the MB manual . When i got to the screen in the installation process asking where i would like to install showing no hard drive, I was able to load drivers from the usb. This was the only advance I had made since starting. When it came back to the hard drive screen again it still was not seen or listed. Tried to refresh. No luck . Tried to reload drivers. It went through same process appearing to complete but still no HDD. I did see HDD activity light on case work for the first time since the build and heard it spin up.
