Windows 7 Install Fail to Finish

If you also have onboard graphics, disable your card, default to onboard chip output and see if it installs - which would mean your card driver is the problem. Also try loading your card's Win7 first and Vista drivers upfront in the install process. Use another vid card for testing.

Reset all BIOS settings to default.

It won't let me install the drivers for some reason.

I bought the student version of Windows 7 Pro x64 online and downloaded it. Windows 7 completes the install and begins to boot, the windows logo shows up and then my monitor turns off. Computer boots in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 R2

What I've done to try to correct this:

1. Removed my overclocks and put the bios on default.
2. Removed all but one stick of ram.
3. Removed all USB devices except for the KB
4. Tried Different HD
5. Tried to install from a separate windows onto another HD
6. Tried to install using Flash drive or a Bootable DVD.
7. Bios is on F9 Bios (F10 is beta)
8. Removed my soundcard
9. Burned the ISO as slow as possible
10. Downloaded another install
11. Torrented the same version I was downloading (in case it was downloading a corrupt file from MS)
12. Switched slots of my vid card.
13. Tried a different DVI Port on my vid card.

Now I'm at a loss at what to do. I've tried with 3 different hard drives and numerous versions of (retail) Windows 7. Any other advice? I'm thinking that it might not be loading the drivers for my video card but I can't figure out which file the driver is when I download it from the ATI website.

I do not have another computer or video card to try this with.

first am i right that you can boot into vista?

If so boot into vista and go to the win 7 partition. in THAT partition look for the \windows\minidump folder. look in there for a dump file (*.dmp). zip it and upload it to us. we can look at the dump and see what is hosing that install. if it int in minidump you can search that drive for *.dmp

There is no dump file in the dump folder

I had to attempt to boot into safe mode, run a command prompt using Shift+F10 when the error box opened up, run device manager disable my video card and restart the computer. Easy enough.

Are you unzipping the drivers before placing them on stick and then browsing all of folders to install?

Also disable the video card and attempt install without it.
