    Windows 7 Product Key Broken

Hi, i have an Acer laptop, (I'm sorry, but i'm useless at finding out any specifics at all), and i acquired it from a friend of mine. It was a replacement from the Acer company, regarding a failure of some sorts on the last one he had. it was without issue while he used it, and was fine once i had it for a few months. Then, out of nowhere, i get told that it is not genuine windows, and get alerts of as much almost constantly.

I try inputting the product key that is the one for the system, to no avail. i get the error code, 0xc004E003 every time i try, and the only options i have are to input another code, or purchase another one.

i ran the diagnostic, and here are the results.

    Code:

This is a problem i have had for a few months now, and its now stopping the system from updating, and preventing me from upgrading to windows 10, or really doing much with it at all.
Any help given would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Doing a quick google search for the last part of your activation key implies to me that it's been used in multiple cases (possibly originated as an Acer OEM key?)

Have you tried activating it over the phone?

    Ian,
that report looks fine i suspect when they did the repairs they may have swopped out the motherboard.

Have a look at the sticker on the bottom of the lappy or in the battery compartment.
It will show the original OS, and another code.

Go to change product key, (controlpanel>system)
input there you may have to activate by phone afterwards
    MS UK 0800 0188354.

    Roy

the code that Joe was referring to is the Acer base code used on EVERY one of there comps

However you seem to have another error in contacting the MS update server.
Are you using a static IP address, please follow the instructtion in the following post and run the
MS fixit for error code 0x80072EE7.
