    Ntldr missing after hard drive format


    Ok, so this is my first post here. Excuse my virgin placement of this topic here. I have been using the great site to resolve many issues over the years, but this one has got me to the breaking point. Here goes, have a lenovo G560. Came with 7 but later was upgraded to 10. Long story short, after finding viruses and a highjacker, I removed drive and backed up personal stiff to external drive. While in my dock I formatted all the partitions and merged as one since I couldn't get to factory partition in windows anyway. Now I get lenovo screen with no boot order options to boot from my windows seven disc. The real problem is the black screen with ntldr missing comes up. Can't get into bios at all. Sorry for the long post ANY idea's? Thankas in advance.

    Try pressing F12 when you boot. That should take you to the Boot options menu.
    Select the DVD drive from there and it should boot okay.

    I recommend deleting all partitions on the drive during the install so only unformatted space is available (no partitions) then click Next. The Windows 7 installer will create the partitions it needs.

    NTLDR ? On a windows 10 system ?

    Viruses ? Highjacker ?

    How did we get these ?

    Clean the drive with Diskpart (using your install dvd) or make and use a Partition Wizard Boot CD, to delete the drive to unallocated space and cretae a Primary partition, formatted, Aligned, and set Active to reinstall Windows. All done with the PW Boot disc.

    You really don`t even have to go into the bios to boot from the dvd drive, just use the 1 time boot menu key to bring up the boot menu then choose the dvd drive and hit enter.

    DISKPART : At PC Startup

    When you merged all the partitions you messed up the bootloader, you may have to wipe the drive, as I suggested and reinstall windows.

    NTLDR was/is an XP file.
