Of course you can install it.
Install it just like windows, when you`re done, format the usb stick and start using it however you want.
My suggestion was just for you to try it 1st, many people don`t like Linux, but go ahead install it.
I told you, after you boot from the stick you should see the option to try it or install it, just choose install it.
So simple a kitty could do it
Install Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS | Ubuntu
system installation - How do I install Ubuntu? - Ask Ubuntu
Once you have it running live from the usb stick there is an 'install' icon on the desktop - you click on that and follow the instructions. Sorry for the mixup over the netbook and laptop.
Xubuntu is my favourite Linux It runs on just about everything and has about all the software you need straight away, and it's quite user friendly. The downside is Windows programs aren't compatible, but you can do everything on the internet you'd normally do, and write word documents, watch videos, edit photos and so on and there is plenty of software to play with.
Incorrect hazel, you can choose to install it from the get go, you don`t have to run it live first.
I hope his next post will be coming live from ubuntu :)
I'm actually trying the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool right nao and i hope it works :)
If not, i have no other option than trying the xubuntu one and just reinstall windows when my dad goes back here in Philippines at December (still too long xD) :)
For what ? Just put the windows iso file on the stick with rufus, you change your mind more then the weather.
