not a genuine copy windows 7

Whilst away last week my son unbeknown to me decided I needed windows 10. I am as my user name says I am useless and only use my laptop for email shopping and bbc iplayer. All seemed ok the first time I turned it on but after traveling I was tired and forgot to turn it off, (I think)
Next morning I tuned it on and on the screen came the Microsoft logo, Then the option to accept or decline window 10. I declined and it said it would try and restore windows 7. But , there's a message every time I turn it on to say its not a genuine copy. Now I am using as normal every thing is the same my passwords are still stored and my favs are still there. What to do? I still have the discs but I have no idea what to do and I do not want to use the use of my laptop. If I was to change to windows 10 would it be the better option.
