    System Active

I have forgotten. How does one go about to check if a Windows 7 is Active?

This will help. I will assume you mean Activated.

    License Information for Windows 7

You can also right click on Computer and select Properties.

pbcopter; My post was not too clear. Helping a friend upgrade to Windows 10, but not having much luck. Win 7 works fine on his machine, but clicking on the "upgrade windows" icon in the notification area and selection the Upgrade button - the machine is still gringing away after eight hours.
My thought was to enter the keys that would bring up the page that show whether Windows 7 is activated or not. Otherwise I'm probably going to run an in place clean install. He had saved an image to an external drive, but that may be bad.

Hope this conveys what I'm looking for!

My previous post should answer your query.
