Windows 7 won't boot after install

    Hi All,

I recently bought the Gigabyte h110m-s2h.

After downloading the Gigabyte windows image tool I was able to install Windows 7 from USB which looked like it went ok.

After the install Windows rebooted to finish the installation but it won't boot.

It goes past the Gigabyte logo then the pc resets and keeps doing this.

I'm able to enter the bios but can't boot afterwards.

I can press f12 and select my ssd from the boot menu but then the pc resets.

I thought maybe something with UEFI but the bios settings look correct, no fast boot, legacy settings etc.

I tried with a Windows 8 installation and that worked fine but the Windows 8 is only licensed for upgrades so I need to get Windows 7 on there first.

Has anybody any suggestions how I can get this to boot? I'm not sure if it is a bios setting but at the moment it is set with the default optimized settings.

I thought I could install Windows 7 then after the last reboot, enter my Windows 8 disk and boot from that to do the upgrade but it looks like i have to boot into Windows 7 and run the upgrade from there.

    Thanks and Regards

    See if this tutorial helps:
Clean Install with Windows 8 Upgrade

I did a clean install of Win 8 with a Retail Win 8 Upgrade license.
That was a couple of years ago, i don't know if things have changed since then.
Are you sure your Windows ISO's/install media are legitimate ?

Also look at the Related Tutorials in the tutorial i linked.

    Thanks for the reply.

Windows 7 dvd is fine, I tried it in a VM to make sure it was running fine.

After I installed Windows 7 which would not boot, I tried a full Windows 8 install using my upgrade key and afterwards it was activated and now upgraded to Windows 10 which is activated and working fine.

    Thanks and Regards,
