have windows 7 installed now want to add xp pro

    Agree, but how many people have good backups? I do and will always continue to do so, but how many other folks have you worked with here and on other forums who didn't?

    As for XP programs not working in Windows 7, Roxio 10 is one. It burns DVD coasters.

    Acronis True Image 2009 mostly works except you can't mount the backup image, which is not a big deal since you can still browse it to extract individual files and folders.

    Zoom Browser for my Canon camera is another that is not working right.

    Got Zoom Browser to work fine on Win7. Either newer version from web, or installed in compatibility mode.
