    Error 0x80042406

    Hello everybody

I upgraded my second hard drive, but apparently had the MBR from windows 7, so the computer did not boot. I reinstalled the old one, computer boots normally, I created a back up image on the new hard drive with the intention of restoring it. But I found this error when I tried to restore the image from it.

"A data disk is currently set as active in BIOS. Set some other disk as active or use
the DiskPart utility to clean the data disk and then retry the restore operation
    error 0x80042406"

    any help can be appreciated

Since you have more than 1 PC try GPARTED. DL and burn the iso to a CD then its a bootable Linux OS with a great Linux partition editor. GParted -- Download

Delete any partitions you may find (if you backed up your data). Then create a new partition using all available space... once it is finished formatting NTFS, then exit GParted and load the Win7 DVD and reboot!

Here's a great article on using GParted Hard Drive Partitions - Changing with GParted
