    How to clean install Win 7 w/o Windows 10

    Hello. I want to do a clean re-install of Windows 7 without the baggage of Windows 10 trying to upgrade itself on my computer before the FREE upgrade deadline of July 29? How would I go about doing this to keep Windows 10 upgrade from installing itself or trying to install itself without my consent?

    Just don`t install any Windows 10 updates.

    3 nasties I know of from my list

    KB2952664

    KB3035583

    KB3123862

    And the GWX Control Panel is also an excellent suggestion.

    Just after installing Win 7 and before any update:
    Make No_GWX.txt file and paste the below commands:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GWX]
    "DisableGWX"=dword:00000001

    Make No_Upgrade.txt file and paste the below commands:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
    "DisableOSUpgrade"=dword:00000001

    Rename No_GWX.txt to No_GWX.reg and No_Upgrade.txt to No_Upgrade.reg
    Execute as Adm No_GWX.reg and No_Upgrade.reg
    Sorry, is a register file, not a command file

    Windows 10 cannot just upgrade WITHOUT user permission.
    As long as you do not click on this "Get started".

    There is a case regarding the Windows 10 auto upgrade, and Microsoft was sue by a businesswoman.
    She said that she did not do upgrade to all her computer, due to a specific prog.
    But 1 computer was upgraded auto.
    She then sue Microsoft for doing that, which cause her to loss business.
    Result: Microsoft LOST this case, and had to compensate her.

    So, in this scenario, this mean that if the user did not click on "Get started".
    This means that the upgrade to Windows 10 require user permission before doing the upgrade.

    No need to worry.

    If you load the register settings as I've mentioned, you wont even get the GWX message and it wont download the Win 10 upgrade files. As AddRam mentioned, you can run GWX Control Panel. The stand alone you don't need to install. Just run it. http://ultimateoutsider.com/download...trol_panel.exe
