No, you only need a 50 to 100 GB Primary partition to install windows on, but you can`t make that 172 GB unallocated space a Primary partition because it is extended space.
The only way to do it right is to get your data off that drive and delete the entire drive to unallocated space, or just buy an ssd to install windows on. And unplug that 500 GB hard drive.
This is a proper setup scheme.
