    Cannot D/L Win 7 ISO

I tried to download an ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...nload/windows7.
After entering my product key it returned an error.
I am sure the key is correct (Used 2 utilities to find it).
The OS was pre-installed on this machine.
SP1 may have been added later - would this change the key?
    Any ideas what's going wrong?
    Thanks.

You probably can't download the ISO from that site using a pre-installed OEM key.

You can try using the ISO Downloader available from Heidoc here:
    https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/techno...-download-tool

The ISO's are downloaded from MS servers using this tool.
No key needed for the download.

DavidE ; Thanks, I'll try that but as I'll still need a key still not sure mine will work.

AddRAM : Thanks also but that's all getting a bit too complicated for me.

You don't need a key to DOWNLOAD the ISO with the Heidoc ISO Downloader.
You do need a key to activate Windows, the OEM-COA key will work with a clean reinstall.
Do you have a COA sticker with a readable Product Key, here is a COA sticker example:

David E : Yes I have a sticker underneath the laptop.
I got the product key from Belarc Advisor.
But the one on the sticker is different ! Any idea why ?
So I might go back with it to my original attempt.

ThrashZone : Many thanks, it is Windows 7 (+SP1) Home Premium 64-bit.
You should see it by clicking my spec in my posts I think.

The key you see in Belarc Advisor is the OEM-SLP key.
You can not do a clean reinstall using that key.
It is a generic key used on thousands of PC's from the PC manufacturer.
It is used with factory Recovery Media, and can't be used for a clean reinstall.

The OEM-COA key is unique for each PC.
That is the key you need to use with a clean reinstall.
