Before upgrading to 10
On a spare hard drive I have, I Installed 7 Pro 64Bit w/SP1.
How, if possible, do I upgrade to 10 w/o having to download all the Telemetry KB updates?

Hi CJW,
Best to ask on the W10 forum

On Win 10 pro you have the option to manage the updates. After install go to settings - privacy and disable the tracking options. Some features, like Cortana, won't work without those options.
You can do a Win 10 clean install using your Win 7 key.
You can turn off a lot of the new Windows 10 stuff (location, handwriting etc) during install.
Thank you for the replies everyone.
On the newly-installed 7 Pro, the only update I've done is to SP1. Do I need to get all other updates before I install 10? I have already downloaded the 10 Upgrade package from MS's website & have the .exe in my downloads folder.
As you are using a spare HDD do a Win 10 clean install using your Win 7 key. It's faster than upgrade from Win 7
Megahertz07, do I use the 10 Upgrade package I downloaded from MS's website? Do you know what choices, if any, I may get once I start the .exe file?
You can download the Windows Media Creator Tool and download the image there, the installer will then ask you if you want to upgrade or do a clean install. I'm not sure if it'll ask for a product key though.
Hi,
Not sure why you're worried about the telemetry updates win-10 is all that and a lot more :)

Windows 10 is explicitly designed to violate your privacy. If those "telemetry" updates bother you, you would not like to be anywhere near Windows 10 at all!
Have a look at the Windows 10 license, in particular the following passage:
And the referenced privacy statement, which is even more scary in terms of what MS can steal from you. Not all that spyware features are actually bundled in Windows yet, but the fact that the license legally enables MS to implement them should be worrisome if you care about telemetry.3.
