    device driver missing, install screen.

Hi Attempting a clean install of W7 on a P8Z68 V-LX MB, from a thumb drive (ive installed from it successfully in the past.

im getting a 'driver' required error at the initial install. I got the AHCI_RAID drivers from asus site, for this mb, and the OS seemed to recognize it as a valid file (i can access it from a usb flash drive), but would not proceed to install it. I tried more recent files from the intel site, but they are not even recognized. The bios is the most recent available for the MB.

actual message is after install now, "a required CD/DVD drive device is missing, if you have a driver floppy disk.............please insert it now.'

    Any advise welcome

    Settings in the bios include...
    SATA MODE : AHCI
    SMART STATUS: ENABLED
HOT PLUG: DISABLED (all sata ports)
    LEGACY USB SUPPORT: ENABLED
    LEGACY USB 3.0 SUPPORT: ENABLED
EHCI HANDS OFF: ENABLED (tried it both ways, same result).
ASUS MEDIA USB 3.0 CONTROLLER (BACK) : ENABLED.

Is the thumb drive attached to the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0. I recommend to use a USB 2.0 at the back panel.
You shouldn't need any driver to install Win 7
