How to upgrade from dual boot Win 7 and Win 8.1 to only Win 8.1

I have dual boot Win 7 SP1 and have dual booted Win 8.0 then upgraded to Win 8.1 but as only have 160GB SSD want to remove Win 7 and have W8.1 only.

Have noted that it is not possible to upgrade from 7 to 8.1 directly (think this is still the case) but as already have 8.1 really just want to move all Win 7 installed programs over without losing their installations as some are not able to be re-installed :) and some are already installed (same or later versions) on W8.1.

As start up speed is much faster on 8.1 (over 7) I prefer this for tablet and would even consider going straight on to Win 10 if there was a reasonable (and still free) upgrade path as also have a MS SP4. The problem with the SP4 is the backwards compatability with software requiring screen resolution adjustments (especially to run software in 1280x800 type resolutions as currently SP4 in 2736x1824 mode.

    Any thoughts?

The free upgrade to 10 was over on the 29th.

You can`t keep the programs on the 7 install if you want to wipe it.

They would have to be reinstalled on W8.1

Ok I see that my question is a little obscure - to simplify, is there a program that will move installed programs from Win 7 (probably through Win 8.0) to Win 8.1, so that they do not need re-installation under (eventually) W8.1.

If not I will keep the 2 partitions with W7 and W8.1 because some of those program utilities are either no longer available for re-installation or I don't know where install CDs etc are.

I thought there was a way to do this, but clearly this is a merge rather than a migration as can be done from one OS to an upgraded one?

I am not worried about (free) Win 10 as upgrade date has passed anyway.

    Thanks
