Of course that will work... when done with data transfer you can always merge the 2 partitions back into 1 if desired!

This might be worth a try:UNAWAVE - Downgrade Ultimate to Home Premium or Professional

It's principle applies to any in-place downgrade.

You'd then only need to put in your Premium key.

Hi reece86,

I would make a separate partition to keep all your personal files and folders in.
You can keep it safer, any re-install will not affect you personal data, easier to backup.

Then restoring your OS partition is faster and smaller in size.

As far as I know you can install updates until the 30 days runs out.

Activation Trial Period - Extend Up to 120 Days

Just in case.
