Yes me too I started with a small SSD until could afford a larger one to clone it to in the meantime I used a spinner to handle the extra data.

If what you want is exactly a wiped drive then you will need a second machine running Windows with the drive you want cleaned hooked up to it.
Personally I use DISKPART > Clean it is in my opinion far better than a straight forward format and for that (format) again you will need access to a machine running Windows.

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

The other machine you can hook up to using a USB to SATA adaptor or use a SATA to USB dock or just install it in that machine but in any case you must make sure that you pick the correct drive before you do the clean or format.

    Hi,
    I personally use this
    Diskpart
    List disk
Select disk n (where n is the letter that was given for your SSD in List disk)
    Clean
    Create partition primary align=1024
    Format fs=ntfs quick
Active (assuming you want to install an OS)
    Exit

Yep I do the same as Thrash Zone or even just leave it as unallocated though the former is a better bet at getting it right. Having said that Windows will partition the drive if unallocated on install.

Anyway just follow the tutorial on the DISKPART and then have a look at this if I haven't mentioned it already.
