Windows 7 install on ASUS R540SA UEFI laptop - BSOD

    Hello everyone,
I came here for help because I've just bought a brand new ASUS laptop (low-budget) model R540SA (Pentium N3700, 4GB DDR3, 240GB SSD). It came with no OS, as I wanted to, so I turned it on and started installing Windows 7 Pro x64. I thought, yeah it's a brand new laptop, it's gonna be easy and quick and I'll be able to use it in a moment... And I just can't do it. It drives me crazy right now, because hey it's a new laptop! It should work just fine!

I've read all the advices around the Internet (UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with among others) and nothing actually helped. I also tried the method using DISKPART. Every time I try to install Win7 it gives me BSOD when displaying Windows logo after the restart. I can't even check the error number, because it restarts automatically. I think everything in BIOS is set up fine (I made a few photos of the settings (number 2 to 5) - URL is at the end of my post). The only thing I suppose might help is a bootable pendrive. I already tried burning it using Rufus, but when I try to use GPT it says my ISO is not an EFI ISO so I have to change to MBR for BIOS and then it says I can't choose FAT32 with this ISO, so I have to choose NTFS (see photos 6 and 7) and when I try to boot I got this - see photos 0 and 1.

Moreover, my touchpad doesn't work! In Windows installer I have to use keyboard to navigate and even in normally working Windows 8.1 too (I've installed this sh**y system and I can't get over it)! I tried Fn + F9 multiple times.

Am I convicted to using Windows 10? Please say I am not... Waiting impatiently for any help.

I just downloaded another Windows image, which has been successfully burnt, but booting cause BSOD even earlier - during installer loading.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Did you confirm asus made drivers for win-7 before buying the machine ?

Touchpad driver would have to be made for it to actually be adjustable otherwise you'd have to use a wired mouse

Asus does have a ez installer to create the installation media you have to go to asus website and look up your model... and downloads section for it and any drivers for win-7.

Most importantly go into your bios and disable fast start and security boot.

    From Intel https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/ww...000005526.html
N3700, N3050 and N3150 are NOT compatible with Win 7 and are ONLY compatible with Win 10 and Linux.

They must be joking How is it even possible? Windows 8.1 actually works... I didn't check anything about software before buying, because I never thought Win7 install may be impossible on a new device. Dark times have just come...

Intel mentioned that even Win 8.1 won't work.

    Hi,
You can always exchange it for another that isn't locked to win-10.
Have asus install win-7 to where all you have to do is activate 7 with your key if you already have one.

Try using a 32 bit installation disc.
