    Installing Win7 on a Win10 computer

I'm going to have to buy a new computer. It already has Win10 installed. I have the purchased Win7 install disk. Can I install Win7 on the new one and use it (Win7) as the primary boot program? And if so, how should I go about it?

Hello Robert mate you need to let us know what that new machineis because there was a post just recent where a fellow had a 10 installed Lenovo machine which would not support 7. I myself bought an Asus ROG laptop a while back and luckily the downgrade 7 I had them put on worked but only after I had to update the BIOS to enable 7 drivers to be installed.
So lets know what the machine is and we can have a look .

You could possibly Google it yourself for that matter something along the lines of will my ******** abd1123 machine support 7. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to install 7 on 10 machines because of driver issues for example.

Why don`t you see if it can be ordered with Windows 7 installed, yes they still do that :)

But there should be no reason you can`t install 7 on it.

Does the PC you are looking at have USB 2.0 ports for your mouse and keyboard ? (very important to know)

If the PC only has USB 3.0 ports then your mouse and keyboard will not work until you install the USB 3.0 drivers.

There are no USB 3.0 drivers in the Windows 7 install DVD

You should contact the manufacturer about it before you make your purchase.

Post a link of the exact model you want to purchase.

Do you have a retail installation disk of Win 7? The disk that came with your Dell Inspiron 620 is a OEM and wont install on other computer.
As AddRam suggested, look for one that has Win 7 installed.
Are you planing to buy a laptop or a desktop?

To ICIT2LOL,AddRAM,and Megahertz07: Many thanks for the replies. Fotunately I found a machine that had both already installed, so my "problem" has been solved.

Well alls well that ends well as AddRam said mate a lot of machines are still being offered with a downgrade to 7 sometimes with certain conditions such as updating the BIOS and I did come across that Lenovo one recently that offered no such possibility - that was a bright move on their part eh?
