I know this is an old thread but I thought I would add a solution I found from clues I got reading this thread. In the bios of the PC I am working on (ASUS M2N4-SLI) was a option for legacy support. It was disabled - I enabled it. I also set the optical drive to the ONLY boot drive. CDs and DVDs boot up AND they have keyboard control now! I think the enabling of the legacy USB support did the trick but I would have to test it to be sure. Great forum - many thanks.
