uninstall windows 10 back to my original windows 7 home premium

stupidly downloaded windows 10 free download and hate it. Would like to get my HP laptop back running original windows 7 home premium ( I think that is it or that is my desktop Dell computer) either way both desktop and my laptop run windows 7. I tried to uninstall windows 10 thru my control panel programs and features didn't work So then I tried restoring to a previous date and time this did not work either. I read somewhere that you must uninstall windows 10 within a certain time period? which to me seems like garbage! Would anybody be able to instruct me on how get my windows 7 back on my HP laptop please without losing my pictures and all my documents?

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a recovery partition or rescue disk for 7 as it won't role back you will have to do a clean install or recover back to how it came. If you put files you want to keep in Google drive or ms one drive wait for it to sync and when you get 7 back they will appear

Samuria, thank you so much for responding. I will give that a try in just a bit. And get back to you if I need more help if that's ok. Right now I have 8 puppies calling for lunch! And then I have one errand to run. I will try all your suggestions as far as saving to one drive as I don't have a disc for it came pre-installed the help I may need will be saving all I want to save before doing a clean install as I have 4 user accounts on my laptop. I will be doing this after dinner tonight. First time I've gone on a forum before, I think I like it TY again Carol

I think the rollback period has been reduced to 10 days.

You should be able to get installation media from HP/DEll.
Will find the link in a minute.

    For your HP
Most all OEM manufactures provide a application to build a installation disk.
Look at the HP software on the laptop for a Factory recover disks.
Some of them can restore to factory by BIOS.
Remember that your entire disk will be formatted, so backup your data on an external disk.

Look at this link HP Support document - HP Support Center

Even I don't recommend as many people has had many problems, you may roll back to win 7

There is nothing like a clean install. If you opt to do it read this for the updates
