    Win 7

    Hi all,
Sorry for the repeating thread. But I'm new here and find the information overwhelming.
Having some problems installing any programs in win7-32bit. Finally got W7 installed on a clean sheet. But she will not install any programs. Flashplayer, reader or my Antivirus. If I double click on exe. file, the window pops up. I click run. But it does nothing.

Please help. I've been fighting this issue for 2 weeks with no success.

    Thank you in advance

    Yes to both your questions.

I actually followed your instructions in a previous thread some time ago on installing W7 from scratch. Worked perfectly. It was like 6 main W7 update file's. Cut my install time by 3 days at least. Thx, for that.

My trouble now is that no other programs will install?

    Thx for the reply.

If you have not installed your antivirus and you have been downloading other things then perhaps you have a virus already.
Virus will stop other programs from installing.
Look for a good online virus scanner and scan your system for virus that way.

    Hi,
Along with the scanner try to right click the .exe file and click on run as administrator and see what happens.
Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,
Ignore the title of the thread,
    Instant Savings App

Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
See this tutorial on how to download and run Malwarebytes,
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,

Well, I did all the above items and the adwareclean from post 7 on different thread
    No Malware, and no virus'
I was not able to to an online scan with bitdefender. Same issues as before. Download the program. Save and click run. Box pops up to run. I click it. But that's it. Nothing else. I won't run as any programs I try to install.????

Getting frustrated as my NVidia card will not update either Microsoft's update file has got to be corrupt.

Anyway, additional help would be appreciated and I thank everyone who has posted ideas and links to try to correct this problem.

    Hi,
Where did you get the windows installation media ?
Basic installation after installing is update first
    Install antivirus second
Then what ever programs.... you have.
Is that how you did it ?

If you had to use a sort of questionable source for the installation media please say so we can provide a clean iso download if you need one or you can use this from another computer to get it yourself

I installed part of windows first. It would not update after a fresh install. Got an error on Microsofts website that i needed to udate my browser. Installed MS security essentials and finally got IE11 installed. Win7 still would not update. Came across a thread in this forum on installing 6 different win7 update KB files. Installed the files and win7 started updating with no problems.

I set the download manager to only download. Which I then downloaded all important updates by same dates. Oldest to newest. This took some time to do but thought it was the best method in not installing updates out of order.

I then viewed and installed most of the recommended updates.

After those updates is when I tried installing nvidia update. No go, which seems to have its own problems because MS loaded the drivers Bitdefender, no go. Flash player, no go. Abobe reader, no go.

This copy of win7 I bought off Ebay from a reliable seller? It shows genuine on my screen and I activated it when I was installing it. Starting to doubt it. If it wasn't genuine, it would say so, right?

I hope I answered all your questions. There has to be a missing file or something. Not sure now

Thx, for your prompt replies and help.
