    Windows7 Home Premium Install

    Hello Forum,

I have a laptop Lenovo which is somewhat old. I had to disc wipe my drive and do a
clean windows7 Home Premium install. The install west smooth and I plugged my
cat5 cable in and went to the update screen. For some unknown reason Microsoft updates will not
download. I activated my install and Microsoft advised it was a legal install. My question is: What
do I do now coach ??

    Sincerely,

    John

    Does your installation has SP1?
If not, it's the first thing to download and install.

For the updates MS releases SP2 for Windows 7

Hello Megahertz07, I wish to be in the air also but this is not the time to be airborne in Idaho, I did another disk wipe
and am reinstalling windows 7 again Service pack one is on the disc. I will check and see if service pack 2 will download.
I also need to download a newer version of internet explorer. 8 is on the disc and I cannot do anything until I get a newer
    version

Thank you. as you can see I am not a computer whiz. I get by but with a lot of stumbling. As soon as the install is
finished I will proceed with #2. again thank you.

For some unknown reason I had todo an end run to get internet explorer 11 installed. From the page that you gave me the url for ie11 I could not get ie11 to download. So I installed google chrome and then went to the download page. It downloaded fine and now it is getting updates. I will let you know what happens.

Megahertz07, Everything seems to work fine. I do not know what my trouble was with the computer but it
is fine now. I hope. I want to thank you for the help. I could not have fixed it without you.
