Using another version of windows 7 for repair install

I want to repair install windows 7 SP1 HOME BASICx64 FUJITSU AH531 laptop .Since windows don't provide ISO for OEM version of windows , i am not able to download it.But I am having a windows 7 home premiumx64 ISO . I want to know whether i can use that for the repair install or should i have to use the same version of windows 7.

    Hello Nihal, :)

I'm afraid that you will need to use the same Home Basic edition to be able to do a repair install with it.

What language do you want ?

I`ll post the direct Microsoft link, all you`ll have to do is click on the link and it will start downloading the Iso file.

And I thought that we could use any disk as maintenance is done by Boot.wim index 1 that is common to the 4 Win 7 brands (Install.wim).
Blink, can you explain why we cant?

Well as an information,I found out that it is possible to unlock all edition of windows 7 by modifying the ei.cfg file found in sources file by extracting the windows 7 iso and editing edition ID in notepad to the desired one.

That is old. You can just rename ei.cfg or delete it and, during installation, it will ask what version you want to install.

That is not entirely true, I don`t think you`d get Enterprise if you do that, but I`m not positive.

I forget which versions my AIO has on it. I`ll do a quick test. I believe mine doesn`t have starter because it`s a 64 bit installer ? Not sure on that.
