I thank all of those who followed it. My choice is clear, it will still be XP for me. It is all I need or want. I am not happy with windoz 7 at all or a laptop. Why does not matter to anyone but me. I have no interest in 7, 8,9,or10.
I will continue with XP pro. on my 2 Dell GX620. Thank you and good night.

Well it is disappointing to hear you give up that easy mate I am just on 70 and I use 7 and 10 all the time XP was good but seeing it has no more support and is a very clunky system there is no way I would go back to it. Sounds ot me like you never gave it a real try

The original post was about a Win 7 restore CD. Why post if you don't want Win 7? Doesn't make any sense to waste our time.

Yes well my friend when you do get around to using 7 and sadly it is not going to be around for as long as most of us want it to be - in that no support is an inevitability - then just come back and I think that once you start using it it does become so much easier and I think you will appreciate it. Now if you were going to 10 then yes it is a world apart from XP and it has taken me some time to adapt from 7 to it as I am not that technically savvy to be honest, but there is always plenty of help here and for that matter the Ten Forum.

Just a an afterthought why not get a new drive and try a dual XP/7 boot then you have the best of both worlds. That way you use the XP on boot up or if you were feeling like giving 7 another go then direct the boot to 7.
Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP it is an interesting exercise and I find for us oldies keeps us on our toes
I have one machine currently dual booting 7 and a Linux based OS called Zorin and it can be quite good fun - again something us oldies are thought not to enjoy anymore - even if it does take us out of a comfort zone which is good for keeping the mind active mate because if you are like me the mind is being let down by the joints etc LOL!!. Doesn't cost much to do it eh?

Why would anyone buy Recovery discs off Ebay for $150 and most likely get scammed, when they can buy Windows 7 Pro from Newegg for $139.99 ????

And why would anyone want recovery discs for that price off Ebay when you could simply call HP ??

And if they did have them they would be way cheaper.

WHY didn't you simply provide a phone number to HP for him , and this 'way cheaper' price ?

WHY would he need a new Win7 cd why would anyone spend $139.99 from newegg when he can get a recovery cd from HP at a way cheaper price ???????

Why when I look at ebay are the majority of recovery discs under 10 dollars lol

Well as the OP already (I am assuming here) that he has an activation code for 7 then he can get a free ISO form Heidoc and use that it is just that he doesn't like 7 for some reason. This way it costs nothing.
