Windows 7: Windows 7 Install not working, 64 bit uefi

Windows 7 Install not working, 64 bit uefi

There are two boot options on the list, aside from the drives:

Lexar USB Flash Drive
UEFI: Lexar USB Flash Drive

When booting from UEFI, it skips past the flash drive straight to the SSD which has Linux Mint.
When booting without UEFI, it goes into the windows install, but it gives an error after the "setup is starting" screen, saying "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

In the asus bios, CSM is enabled
Boot device control: UEFI and Legacy OpROM
Boot from Network Devices: Ignore
Boot from Storage Devices: Both, UEFI first
Boot from PCIe/PCI Expansion Devices: Legacy OpROM first

My mouse also doesn't work in the installer

The USB installer worked on a different computer, which leads me to believe that my BIOS is not compatible with this install. Windows 10 worked on it before, until it corrupted and broke completely.

That`s because you are trying to use a usb 3.0 port, use usb 2.0 ports (black)

Or you can use Asus EZ Installer program to create a usb installer with integrated usb 3.0 drivers.

The Windows 7 installer does not have 3.0 drivers, this is common knowledge.

It would be great if you told us what motherboard you were trying to install 7 on.

Windows 8 and 10 have usb 3.0 drivers in the installer, that`s why they will install without any issues.

Access Denied

And if you are going to install Windows over a drive that has Linux you must 1st clean the drive, using Diskpart and the clean command.

Totally agree with AddRAM.

On my systems, any time anything Linux has been installed I had to use Diskpart Clean command or a Diskpart Clean All command.
Just a format is not good enough. Their will be some Linux left behind that will cause problems.

Here is a tutorial by Brink that is worth reading.

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

If by chance you have a DVD player in your system it will also work well to install Windows 7.
