The 755 is all back together. I'm waiting on an internal Dell floppy drive that I found on Amazon. When that get's here I'll install Windows XP. I'm also waiting on the bottom bezel (I broke it while taking the case apart).

I'm saving 98SE for the 320. It'll have a 250GB HDD and 2GB of memory. I'd like to get an internal floppy for that one also.

    That's something I could try. I have a SSD I could use (just need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter).

The "fastest" processor that I see as compatible in the spec sheet is a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2.66GHz, 8MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB).
Ok the adaptors are just a tray really that you screw the SSD to and the tray just slides in like a 3.5 drive.
New Black Metal 2.5" to 3.5" Mounting Adapter Bracket Hard Drive Holder-Newegg.com cheap enough to buy a couple and maybe a spare in case you need to install two drives.

That CPU would fly and it is quad core but no hyperthreading though. The only thing is you might find is that it may be quite expensive if you can find one and it being almost invariably a used one it carries the risk f getting a dud one too. So researching is paramount with it.

Having said that here there are a couple in the US I noticed at a fairly good price the Asian ones I would be suspect re buying Access Denied

I'll hopefully get the floppy drive and bezel this week so I can do the install this weekend. I'm going to see if this machine can run any of my old PC games that were made when 98SE, and XP were out. The computer had an ATI card in it (it's been removed). Looking to see if I can get one of those also.

Capacitors arrived. I won't be doing anything to the 320 until the 755 is done.

Hmm am not sure if they would be supported if you are using 7 but worth a try.

I wont be using 7. I'm installing Windows 98SE on one and Windows XP on the other. I may install Linux on one, haven't decided if it will be a dual boot or not. I'll have to see how the install of Windows goes.
