repair install x86 windows 7 sp1 with oem 7 disk

    Hello all
Long time lurker, Ive searched and couldnt locate what I was looking for. So...

I have a win 7 sp1 machine that is giving a headache with its issues. I am planning a repair install this weekend. Although I have done numerous repair installs, this is the first that has sp1 installed. Can I do a repair install with the oem 7 disk w/o sp1 and install sp1 thru the updates after? or do I need a 7 sp1 disk?
I dont have a 7 sp1 disk if thats the case I'll try to locate one.

    Thanks

    Hi Lucky,

    ONLY VALID FOR 24 HRS

    Here you go
    W7 SP1 Pro x64 english.

    https://software-download.microsoft....6edaa3d387ec75

follow this link for a USB install.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...-download-tool

    Couple of observations
your system is currently not Registered, activated yes.
MS Frontpage licence will need to be re-activated if you clean install
(its also been discontinued and therefor considered a security risk.)

    OOOOOOOPs,

    Sorry Lucky,
most people use X64, never gave it a thought.
Your licence is valid for both anyway.

Your problems could by caused by the fact its not registered, not updating? if so install KB971033.

Yeah I know. We are still using VMS mainframe until our software developer completes a windows based system that mocks it. The emulation program is for XP, the last os that is compatible, so until hes finished we need to stay at 7 x86 until its gone and go to 10.
