    Installing Windows 7 ERROR: 0x80070570

I'm running into Error 0x80070570 installing Windows 7 from a CD.

    Laptop:
    Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB DDR4-SDRAM
    256 GB SSD
    NVIDIA GeForce 940MX

    Things tried:
I have tried burning three separate times:
CD1 W7 iso burned with Rufus on Virtualbox on a mac computer, DVD brand 1
CD2 Different W7 burned on Ubuntu with Brasero, DVD brand 2
CD3 Same ISO as CD2 burned with KB3, DVD brand 2

    Other notes
I only have access to the laptop in question and an ubuntu live CD, which is why I haven't gone with the official Microsoft tool to burn a disc. The SSD used to have Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installed, and I ran in to initial trouble because the drive was GPT. I used terminal to convert to MBR, and now I face the current error. The BIOS is set to legacy, if I switch to UEFI I can't boot anything; it displays "No bootable device".

    Hi and welcome to SF.
First when burning a windows ISO do not burn at high speed, x4 is good. Imageburn is good software.
Second make the SSD "Raw" (remove all partitions and make unallocated).
When you boot from the CD and start the install the installation will format the SSD to NTFS and then load.
Make sure all other drives are unplugged so the MBR is loaded only too the new OS drive.
