Brian, I thought that the support offer was withdrawn when Windows 7 went into extended support, Microsoft only supplying reduced updates, and Paid support to Business clients only, from that point onwards. Of course US could be different

You are probably right, Nigel, including here in the SSA (Squabbling States of America).

On another note, NewEgg just ran out of Win 7. I doubt there will be any more from them.

I'm sure glad I bought my extra copy of Windows 7 Pro/64 about a year and a half ago.

Ya I`m sure any support from MS with W7 is ancient history.

But I was just thinking back to when I bought Vista Home Premium retail, when it first came out, and I got that 365 days of support from MS.

I actually had to call them because I had no experience with Vista, but I think it was just an issue with my key not being valid on future clean installs.

I have 2 Retail Windows Vista Home Premiums, I bet if I used 1 to do an install today, I bet I`d still have a key issue.

I actually loved Vista, it was a great change from XP.

And for some reason they put $199.99 for the 32 bit edition

Might just be a miss print. the 64 version is still $140.00.

You could be right Nigel. There is a demand and with a demand comes a higher price.
It's been that way for thousands of years.

The 64bit version has been (supposedly) on sale through today. I don't know what it will be once the sale ends (NewEgg has become notorious lately for raising the regular price they charge for products back up to MSRP shortly before putting them back on "sale" for the same price or higher than what it had been).
