Trying to restore Dell to factory settings, but F8 not working

I've tried holding down f8, tapping it continuously, holding ctrl f8 and fn f8. I managed to get the advanced menu once, where i actually saw the "repair my computer" option, but when i selected it, windows just continued booting up normally.

I don't have any kind of windows or restore disks, unfortunately.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Try to see if you can launch Factory Restore under BIOS settings.

    Borrow my recovery media.

Boot it up, and you should be able to set your oem restore partition active. Then you should be able to boot directly to the restore process.

It is also a good idea to see if Dell have a recovery image download, in case you need it in future.
