ASUS ZenBook UX31E Driver Problems
So I was recently "gifted" a laptop that I am unable to get working. When attempting to boot up it goes to a black screen and does nothing. I have tried doing a clean install of windows 7 but when I get to the step asking which drive I would like to install windows on there are no options listed. The drive itself seems to be good, as it does show up in the BIOS, but despite trying to install drivers from the ASUS page I cannot seem to get the computer to recognize the drive during the actual installation of windows. Also worth noting is that while the hard drive is shown in the BIOS, when using the "list drive" function in the cmd prompt it says "There are no fixed drives available". I guess I don't really know how to tell if the SSD is totally fried and I'm wasting my time or if this is some kind of driver or OS problem that I am just unable to figure out. It seems to be a common issue with this particular model of laptop, but I can't find a solution anywhere that has helped even slightly. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
