I have emailed G Data support and await a reply.

tuneup 2014 utilities would remove unwanted junk it can scan safetly remove files you dont need the only risk is the program leave a folder behind that impossible to remove!!my best method would be this remove some files tha taking up the space onto a folder like mypicture of my music see how the pc goes for a week if the pc is running normal and booting up fine without errors and you do a systemhealth check and sfc scannow in cmd then you can safetly delete the files that taking up your space if windows os doesnt need the file to run the windows then it junk that you dont need on your pc

Clean install on formatted SSD using my original genuine M/Soft DVD.
I bought the OS about 4 years ago so there were lots of M/Soft updates to install.
I think it all hinges around .NET updates.
Then again, I'm not sure of anything.
Linux Mint is starting to look good!

A clean install is always the best solution.
As you have a lot of disk space, why don't you make an image of the drive.
If any similar problem happens again you can just restore the image.

    Thanks for that.
I do actually use Macrium and normally take a daily backup.
I haven't set up schedules for that yet, but I have taken a system disk image.
If I don't make any further progress soon, I will just try deleting the contents but leaving the folders.

This website might help explain what Nativeimages is used for. As far as I know it's only part on Windows 7 Pro. My version of Windows 7 Home Premium does not have it.

    What is a Native image?

    OK thanks.
Unfortunately I'm just Joe Public so much of that was over my head.
Still waiting for a response from G Data, I'll give them another 24 hours.
After that the pruning shears are coming out.
If that doesn't work then it's probably going to be Linux Mint with a virtual machine for apps I can't do without.
    Cheers.

Well so far G Data have not seen fit to reply.
Guess I'm looking for an alternative security product.
Any how with everything at hand to restore my system drive if required, I deleted everything marked tmp in the NativeImages files.
As you can see, the "assembly" folder went from >38gb to 1.4gb.
So far my system has been running without any problems for 4 days.
On that basis I will mark the thread as closed.
Thanks again to those who chipped in and gave me avenues to check out.
    Cheers.
