format failed with black screen after reboot

    Hello,

    I had 2 partitions C and D.
I wanted to format both and to stay with one drive only.
    Here what I did:
Boot from windows 7 installation CD => Custume installation .
It showed 3 partitions : system and 2 others.
I marked the system partition and pressed DELETE.
I marked a partition (size 400 GB assuming this is the D) and pressed DELETE
Now it showed 3 partitions, 2 of them unallocated space.
I marked the partition with unallocated space and total size of 400 GB.
    The installation started normally
Problem: First auto reboot failed with black screen and system never come up.

What can be done from here?
    Thanks

    Hi ttaammaarr,

If you only want a C drive, delete all partitions, so you just end up with 1 partition being the whole of your hard drive.

    re-install
Then custom, the install will create
    1) System partition reserved - 100mb
    2) C drive - the rest

As Roy mentioned, to do a clean install, you have to delete all partitions.

    Hi Roy,
I tried to do exactly this.(sory for not being clear) :
In the “where do you want to install windows” there were 3 items.
I selected the system reserved partition=> disk options=>DELETE.
I selected what seemed to me D and delete.
I didn't touch the third one because isisnt know what it was (recovery partition?).
Now I expected to see one less partition but instead there were 3 items, 2 of them marked as “unallocated space”. All disk options were diabled except “REFRESH”.
I selected ond of tha items and pressed NEXT.
The installation started normally till the reboot. The boot process got stucked with black screen.
    How to proceed from here?
Is it possible to reboot again from CD and start the installation all over again ?

I'm not sure how to do it without an access to OS.

It's all on Clean Install Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

    - Boot from the win7 installation disk.
    - Go to installation - advanced - delete ALL partitions (till you have only one un allocated partition) - create new.
    It will create:
    - A MS reserved - 100Mb - RAW
    - Big NTFS Partition

    - Install on the Big NTFS Partition
