No Drivers Found. Click Load Driver to Provide Mass Storage Driver....

Hi all,

I'm getting the above error when trying to do a clean install of Windows 7 from a USB drive using the Rufus program for the ISO.

I've tried everything I have found online and nothing works:

1. normal boot from a W7 ISO formatted as NTFS using Rufus - same error
2. Shift + F10 at install window to get to CMD...diskpart >> list disk >>> drive doesn't show up
3. Boot up to the current (W7...the one I want to blow away to start fresh) drive is obviously there
4 Reformatted USB stick and copied a fresh ISO >>> same error

Why is this such a problem? In the past, I've been able to perform this same task for a clean install and for whatever reason all these methods don't work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Forum

In what hardware you're trying to install win 7?
Please edit your profile with all hardware specs.
New MB require USB 3.x and SATA drivers that aren't on the installation disk.

Hardware profile added. My apologies for not doing so earlier.
The system is a few years old and I'm wanting to do a clean install wiping out the existing OS (which is the same:W7 to W7) no upgrades.

I think you have to provide this driver https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER014...-setup_ZPE.exe
Extract the IaStorA_64 and IaStorS_64 to a USB flash drive.
When asked to provide the Mass storage drives, browse to the USB flash drive.
Boot from Win 7_64 installation disk, go to Install - Advanced - Delete all partitions - create new.
