ACPI non-compliance

... so, I had to use /ForceUnsigned flag to update the WIMs with NVMe driver... as it was rejected without the flag.

I forgot to run the clean command the first time (boot1)... unmount did not work, so, I had to remove the mount folder manually and recreate it. The second time (boot2), I ran the clean command, it worked and mount info showed no images. I still had to delete the mount folder and recreate it before running the clean command.

Anyway, boot.wim is ready.

And, I got install.wim... and tried this morning.

I get the Microsoft failed to start error... with \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD error...

So you're making progress.
Did you boot the Win 7 installation disk as UEFI?
Did you deleted all partitions (Install - advanced - delete all partitions)?

No luck!

I started over.

1. Made USB using Rufus (the guide you provided, I followed exactly).
2. Followed your tutorial exactly to slipstream USB3, SATA and NVM drivers.

Now, I am getting Windows Boot Manager error 0xc000000d in FILE: /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/BCD

with options CONTINUE or EXIT

Any advice?

EDIT: I tried manually adding/moving around the EFI file, as shown in this (UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows | Windows 8 Forums) tutorial, but no luck. Also, with a fresh copy of WIN7SP1 created USB by Rufus (no slip-streamed drivers), I get the error.

Try to make a Win 7 installation USB flash disk as above. Use the files and folders you created adding the drivers (don't use the files from Rufus).
To boot from the Win 7 installation USB flash disk, launch boot menu and choose UEFI option.

When I saw your post, I was already in the middle of trying Payton's method with only USB3 drivers. No luck... same error!

I also tried your method above... formatting manually and then adding the /efi/boot... still same error.

I think maybe I am not doing this correctly... the boot.zip file has only one file bootx64.efi in it. Am I supposed to simply copy it into /efi/boot? If so, same error.

I am trying to boot without adding any drivers from a USB2 port, just to check.

PS: I just looked in /efi/microsoft it is empty. In your picture above, it is not.
I tried copying /efi/boot into /efi/microsoft/boot... same error.

I tried using Rufus again with DISM GUI tool to just add USB3 drivers. Same error. I want to add that every time I run the unmount+commit DISM command (both terminal and GUI) the unmount does not happen properly. I get some error. Clean command does not clean everything out either. I have to look inside the mount folder (empty) and delete it.

Let me know if you have anything else for me to try. I will try to read Payton's long discussion area tomorrow.

We don't know if the problem is on your USB boot able disk or something related to BIOS.
- Copy all Win 7 installation disk files and folders (from a ISO or DVD) to a folder on your computer.
- Make a efi/boot folder and add the bootx64.efi
- Format a USB flash disk (at least 4G) as Fat32
- Copy all iso files and folders to the USB flash disk.

Boot the USB flash disk as UEFI. (You wont have mouse)

I started fresh this morning. Tried a lot of things.

-I was having unmounting problems using DISM... I learnt to CLOSE all Explorer Windows.
-I also picked up DISM from another location... instead of SYSWOW from SYSTEM32 folder.
-I tried with Rufus in UEFI mode.
-I tried with Rufus in BIOS mode -- ACPI error.
-I even diasbled anti-virus (problem was with autorun.inf and other autorun files)

All except BIOS mode give the \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD error.

So, I started again from your reply above.

I did things in this order.

- Already have windows7-64 ISO unzipped in a folder.
-Formatted USB in FAT32... working with 32GB drive.
-Copied all unzipped windows7-64 files over to the root of the USB
-Copied /boot/ you provided (with bootx64.efi file to /efi ==> /efi/boot

On booting from both USB 2 and USB 3 ports, same error.

Yes, not sure if something is up with the USB Bootable disk or my BIOS settings.

I am attaching pictures of my BIOS pages, including error pages.
Also, I am attaching a copy of my /efi folder after it is unzipped from official windows 7 SP1 ISO.

I tried uploading as a zip archive, did not work. I have attached individual files.

From above images, you can see I have what my EFI folder looks like. I can't attach the whole tree, even as zip, as the forum times out with 400 error. After I unzip my DVD, the EFI folder has ONLY Microsoft (no Boot folder). And, EFI/Microsoft/boot shows the BCD file. Something is wrong at this point... that is why I am unable to boot...

PS: my newer laptop mobo does not have CD/DVD ROM drive

I'm not sure, but I don't think you're booting from the USB disk.
When you launch the boot menu you should see a the boot options like the image below.

On BIOS - Boot tab what you have under UEFI settings?
