Are you using the hidden admin account? or a regular admin account? Windows 7 has more layers than earlier versions of windows - there is a user (part of System) called Trusted Installer and this sits above the normal Admin (it's there as a prevention of some advanced type of malware attacks)

The only other way I know is to access the disk from a non windows system that does not respect NTFS permissions - Luckily we have a number of Linux Distributions that allow use of a DVD or USB Stick to run in a live form without full installation ( trial setup ). It is possible to use this to delete files and folders that are locked in windows. You will need a basic Linux knowledge to use this technique bur If needed I should be able to point you in the right direction

If you follow the link I posted in Post #10 above it should solve your issue - If you try it and still cannot get it removed then we will have to look at the linux route

Do you use malwarebytes? If so it has a program under its tools called Fileassassin if you can't find it the D/L page is here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/fileassassin/

If you hit the 'Windows could not start the Pervasive PSQL Workgroup Engine on Local Computer' again, see if this guide helps: https://support.na.sage.com/selfserv...2276&sliceId=1

Then I searched for it an got 84 results on the sage support site

@Anak FileAssassin did not work, it was unable to select a file from "C:/Windows/Assembly/xxxxxxxxxxx", when i manually typed in and pointed to "C:/Windows/Assembly/" the computer crashed. I also tried that Knowledge base forum and i did all the steps to no avail. I currently am downloading Ubuntu so i can try @Barman58 technique

Okay, if the Ubuntu doesn't work I saw this on the first sage link I offered.

At Solution V:
Quote:
Solution V: Uninstall and reinstall Pervasive
  1. Download the Sage 50 Database Repair Utility. Follow Article ID 10529 Using the Sage 50 Database Repair Utility, in Related Resources.
The link for the utility is here: Using the Sage 50 Database Repair Utility After you get it installed read it so you understand what it can do.

After step 4. Options under Resolution you'll see:
Quote:
Remove Pervasive

The Remove Pervasive utility will uninstall Pervasive from the local computer. This utility is usually used in conjunction with the Install Pervasive utility. It is important to ensure that all users have logged out and closed Sage 50 before using this utility - upon starting this utility; a message will provide a reminder:

Quote:
Note: The initial attempt to uninstall Pervasive will usually fail. This is normal and is caused by Pervasive being started during the uninstall process. Just run the process again to successfully uninstall Pervasive.
That last note is important it may look like the removal failed but run it again and then check to see if that file has been removed.

Before you try to delete the folder using a Live Ubuntu CD/DVD/USB, you should create a Backup Image of the drive (just in case something weird happens).
