Recover user folder after Windows reinstall

    Hey all,

I had Win 10 for years and I got an error and had to a re-install as the repair tool didn't work.

During the Win7 installation, I chose the same partition as before and I still have the other files(the old C:/) but not the old users folder. I want to mention that there's a Windows.old folder there but it's completely empty.

I tried to restore the files using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard with no result.

    Please help

Reinstall Win 10 or Win 7?
Is your Explorer set to Show all files (system and hidden files)? Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Folder Options - view tab

It depends how you installed depends if you formatted the drive. Do you have a folder called windows.old

Thanks all for your quick reply.

I installed Win 7 as it's the only I had my hand on at that moment.

The hidden files are set up to be shown, but there are not there.

Windows.old folder is dead empty this time. In the past I had the previous files here but not this time.

I am looking for a recovery software now. What do you guys recommend?

    Cheers

Don't you have a backup of your data?
Unless your files have been deleted after installation the chances of a recover are very little.
Download Recuva | Recover deleted files, free!
