A compact version can be as simple as drivers of USB3 and SATA, plus all hotfixes, .Net framework 4.8.

    It already is.

Run without any of the options below, it integrates usb3 support, nvme support, sha2 support, newer update client and some common net drivers.

hotfixes and netframework 4.8 are optional via simplix update pack and netframework 4.8 add on

additional options are to put any extra drivers you want in the provided folders. See post 2.

Any suggestions for the next version?
How about a simple pure Win 7 version?

I personally use Integrate 7 because it removes some BS easily:

    - disables Meltdown and Spectre hotfixes (to speed up CPU)
    - disables autoshare of your disks in local network
    - disables autoplay of disks other than CD/DVD (for security)
    - re-enables secdrv service (for support for SafeDisk and SecuROM required by some old games)
    - re-enables Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Audio Layer-3 Codec Professional (for support high bitrates encoding)
    - adds “Computer” icon to Desktop
    - replaces default IE11 homepage with blank (about:blank) and search engine with Google
    - adds EULA accepted for SysInternal tools (cosmetic)
Plus it seems easier to use. For a new version I just copy the pre-dl hotfixes to a new directory, add the ISO, and it dl the new additional updates and goes to work. At the end I have an ISO ready to go. However, lately integrate 7 has become bloated with unnecessary drivers and removing features without allowing them to be added in if wanted by the user. Worst of all the creator is absolutely completely unresponsive to questions and comments (unlike yourself).

My personal use of Win 7 is on older era specific machines (i.e. I wouldn't buy a brand spanking new computer and try to run Win 7 on but something from 10 years ago sure...) So I don't need the latest HW supported on it. As such I want to have latest/greatest win 7 with all the features that Win 7 came with to use on that machine minus the win 10 upgrade BS and security patches that are really not an issue for a home system used to play games on (like spectre). My ideal updater would take Win 7 ISO:

    - Add all the updates up to that point (including .NET)
    - integrate all additional/optional accessories (e.g. winhlp32, Win XP compat)
    - allow me to add specific HW drivers I need (for example for HW RAID cards)
    - add the windows update fix to continue receiving updates (will soon become pointless as extended support will end and you can make a final final version DVD LOL).
If you want to get fancy you can make the above super customizable. Just my two cents of a wish list!

It is win7. It doesn't include the updates. As explained in post 1, those who want them can include simplix ( which avoids the telemetry stuff ).

You can do your own registry hacks if you want.

One easy way is to pop a reg file into \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup with a little .cmd file to run it and then self delete.

You can put that in the folder called IMPORT.

Update your Win 7 installation media-import-folder.jpg

in the startup folder is your custom .reg file and a .cmd file to import the entries silently and then delete so it doesn't run at subsequent logons.

Update your Win 7 installation media-startup-folder-contents.jpg

    for example:

    first.cmd
    Code:
    @ECHO OFF
    IF EXIST "%~dp0*.reg" (
     ECHO Importing reg entries ....
     regedit /s "%~dp0*.reg"
    >nul TIMEOUT /T 1
     DEL "%~dp0*.reg"
      )
     DEL "%~f0"

    FYI
looks Updates from Microsoft are superseded

my present installation takes only latest five hotfixes (to be ok to activate)

    2. kb4490628
    3. kb4538483
    4. kb4575903

    HI SIW2

I have followed the instructions given above. I ran 7UPv64I.zip program as admin, I did not use Simplix. The program added drivers and updates and then finnished. I went to the folder that i had extracted the Windows 7 installation files and used Poweriso to create an iso file. I used Rufus 3,20 to create a bootable USB, I disabled secure boot in the Bios, I could not find fast boot in the Bios. I restarted my laptop and windows 7 loaded the files/drivers it needs to start setup but Windows 7 hung at the starting windows screen.

Thank you SIW2, I will try to combine these drivers with the window 7 installation files using your instructions from this forum. I am a newbie to this so I hope it is ok to ask more questions if needed

I expect you need to delete the xhci and uasp drivers that are in 7up drivers folder first. Then include canonkongs drivers.

I dont know how well it will work with a laptop, worth a try.

Where do i place the cpu driver package and the video driver package, do they go in the boot 64 folder or the install 64 folder?

You could put them in both.

I suspect your machine doesn't have csm support.
    you could try Release 1.30 . manatails/uefiseven . GitHub
