I did this and have copied the dism files from the ADK_4\x86\dism folder into system32 OK.
I have also run and installed the DISM Installer v6.1.7601.17514.
It is one or the other - not both. The dism installer ( installs win7 dism on vista) will have overwritten the win8 dism files you copied in.

Never mind, win7 dism will work ok.

    Hi SIW2,

Download the updates using any number of tools.
Assuming the wim is already SP2, untick the service packs and download the rest.
I had a Vista SP1 DVD but couldn't find an SP2 .msu, only a SP2 .exe, which vLite doesn't accept. I did however manage to find a Vista SP2 ISO. I ran it through vLite and customized it, mainly removing components I don't want, and making some tweaks. Got the ISO down to 866,752. I installed it in Oracle VM VirtualBox and it seems to work OK, just have lots of partly faded .ini files here and there, probably because of the comonents I removed. I will delete them anyway.

Not sure if they need integrating in particular order - I suggest using use vlite for integration
By this I assume that you mean downloading them to a folder, mounting the newly created ISO, integrating the updates, and then creating a new ISO?

    Thanks in advance.

mounting the newly created ISO ( ??? - mount the Install.wim)

    Yes.

IIRC vlite creates a reg entry which just says vlite in the software hive.
You might need to delete that entry - coz MS did some blocking thing if that reg entry is there

    Yes, that's what I meant!

I assume you mean in the mounted software hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SOFTWARE_vLite?

The regedit entries for the installed system in VirtualBox show the following:

    Default
    Modified
    NumComponentRemoved
    Version
    WebSite

Which do I delete [probably none]?

    Thanks.

    Hi Sir,
    Greets,
Will you please answer my two questions ?
    1) Does this utility automatically download & integrate 'Net Framework 4.7' as well ?
    2) What are the supported driver formats/files ? What to actually put into driver folder(s) ?

    Thanks & Regards. ...

    @SIW2

Hello, I am from Brazil, My question is what program I will use to integrate drivers in boot.wim and install of vista sp2, I did not succeed with certain programs, SIW2 which program you would recommend me, I am using some windows 7 drivers, and when I try to force the integration, I can, but it does not work, or it does not recognize, mainly with usb 3.0 drivers or wireless network, the only program that integrates successfully is VistaTool, but only works with install.wim. Another question, because it is not possible to use the windows 10 dvd with the install.wim of the view, in case I am relating to the compression in esd, in windows 7 it is possible such a relation or replacement. Thanks for the attention, and forgive my English, I used google translator.

That is the purpose of the Import folder.

If you like, you can put NetFramework installer in the Import folder like this:

    Import\Windows\Setup\Scripts\NET_Framework\NDP472-KB4054530-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe

    and also include

    Import\Windows\Setup\Scripts\SetupComplete.cmd

    Setupcomplete.cmd
    Code:
    %windir%\Setup\Scripts\NET_Framework\NDP472-KB4054530-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe /q /norestart

I might include setupcomplete.cmd and cpufix in the next version.

The drivers need to be inf cat and sys files. Dism cannot integrate drivers in exe format.

VistaTool must be using peimg and pkmgr to integrate updates and drivers.

To integrate drivers into Vista boot.wim, you can use this:

    InstallWimSYS.zip
