You lost me on your post #8.

You cannot use a 3rd party program. Also if you have Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installation, with corresponding OEM key, you cannot download directly from Microsoft (that link has been severed by Microsoft). SIW2 conveniently provided a link to techbench wrt which downloads windows ISOs directly from Microsoft, and doesn't require a product key.

What do you mean Boot Key?

As I indicated previously, I don't believe a repair install will correct your issue as it retains all settings you currently have on your computer, that includes administrative account, guest account, permissions, etc.

Question again, is it all you need off that computer are some files, folders, etc.? If so, I would create a full system image on the 500 GB drive you referred to earlier. I prefer and recommend AOMEI backupper free! Simple interface that doesn't overwhelm with plethora of tabs, functions, links, etc. You can mount the backup and it appears as an additional drive in Computer. You can then access any files, folders, etc. you wish and copy them. You cannot delete or add anything to the image!

Where are we going from here?
