Key not found in Produkey but is in WGADiag

Hello - I'm getting different results from two tools.

    Produkey can't find it:

& and the MS tool WGADiag can:

Both tools work fine in a different installation (identical OS). A couple of days ago I re-activated the key with the help a the phone support person who did a lot of slmgr.vbs "dancing" to get the install to become Genuine; is it possible the support person forgot to set some registry value?

I'm working on a machine with two installs. This install is being used to create a re-deployment image which will loaded on my wife's laptop and I'd just like to make sure she won't be hit with any "not a genuine copy" issues.

Thanx in advance for your help.

Hi Paul - not sure what you mean by "suspect"? That my copy of W7 is legit or that the support person made a mistake? If you mean "legit" my copy W7 Pro was purchased about two weeks ago from a Nederlands vendor called Softkeys. Softkeys

The first time I used the key it activated as expected. I then de-activated it (using slmgr.vbs per instructions I found here) so I could re-use the key in my testing install. The second time it required activation by phone. According to the support person it is unusual for consumers to have two installs on the same machine & that was the root of the problem.

If you're not questioning my honesty I apologize for over-reacting. If you are questioning my honesty I'd like to understand why ..,

    Hi Ritjesman,

No, I am not questioning your honesty, I just didn't word the post very well or explain what I meant by that, sorry.
What I meant to say was that when you said that a support person had done a lot of slmgr.vbs "dancing" to get the install to become genuine, I thought that you might have been sold a pirate Product Key!

    I hope this helps!

Given the environment we live in I appreciate your caution. Just as an FYI:

And,, yes, I'd still like to understand why both WGADiag and Belarc find the properly activated key but Produkey doesn't

It could be that Produkey isn't as thorough or well written as the other two!
Perhaps another member could shed some light on it for you!
Does it really matter though, considering that you have the information that you need?

    I hope this helps!
