I don't know why you don't try what jagurdo said in post #9. Here is all there is to it:
1) On old system, go into device manager > IDA ATA/ATAPI Controllers, right click your disk controller listed within that section, right click and select "update driver software", then click "browse my computer for software", then "let me pick from a list...". then choose "Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA controller", then click next to install it. 2) After it installs, IMMEDIATELY shut down, remove the drive and connect it to your new motherboard. 3) Boot up, first checking to make sure bios of new motherboard has AHCI selected for SATA Contoller (its usually set to AHCI by default) 4) It will boot to the desktop and you will need to then install the new motherboard's chipset drivers (intel management interface), usb 3.0 drivers, vga drivers, etc. Your 2.0 usb ports will work already so there is no loss of keyboard/mouse 5) Once all drivers are loaded, run freeware "Device Cleanup Tool" which deletes all old drivers from your system (for anything NOT currently connected). Here's the link Tools for Windows 6) Run windows update |
