    Win 7 reinstall

Hello. It's probably on here somewhere but I can't find it..... I just bought a used dell E6430 on line that came with Windows 10. Originally it had Win 7 on it and I'd like to put 7 back on as 10 sucks! I don't have an installation disk but do have the product key from inside the battery compartment.I tried to reinstall from Dell but It's telling me "no images exist for the tags, though images exist for the product". Am I stuck with 10...which appears corrupted BTW. Obviously I don't know an awful lot about computers. Thanks. Oldaarpy

It is probably best to do a clean install anyway as you bought it online. You don't really know what is on there, such as Malware, Spyware and Viruses etc!

Can you post a screenshot of the Disk Management please => Click Start => right-click Computer => click Manage => click Disk Management.

What Win 7 version and bit-type have you got a Product Key for?

Sorry, I gave you the Win 7 method.

Try one of these for Win 10:-

[1] Right-click on Start Menu (or press Windows+X hotkey) and then select Disk Management.
[2] Use Windows+R hotkey to open Run window and then type Diskmgmt.msc, click OK or press Enter.

    I hope this helps!

Hey, Paul. I figured it out on 10 and I'm using the sniping tool. I was hoping I could drag and drop...but. I may not be able to get back to you for awhile as that winter storm has just hit and I may have some things to do before things get too bad. Aarpy

Do you know what windows 7 edition the key is for. I would take a guess it is Pro.

    Good luck with the storm.

Siw...I have no idea what version 7 it is. I'm on the laptop in between snowflakes (so to speak).

You will need to install the edition that matches your license key. Those machines often came preinstalled with win7 Pro.
